Pact .308 AR Trigger
Designed specifically for the heavier .308 ARs, this self-contained unit is easy to install and results in a predictable, ultra-smooth, clean-breaking, match-grade trigger with a really crisp let-off and a short reset. All you do is remove the factory trigger unit and selector and drop in the completely self-contained module then reinstate the selector and the pins and you are ready to go.
This unit uses completely different, innovative engagement geometry to produce a 3-lb pull and a really crisp release whilst retaining the safety and reliability of the factory trigger. Two-stage triggers enhance safety and this one features adjustable sear engagement with circa six ounces of first-stage take-up. Sear movement then takes up the rest of the weight which is the opposite of USGI trigger function. With this trigger the shooter can gradually indcrease pressure confident in maintaining control and focusing on the target. Overtravel is .030″, or less than half the .070″ that you find with most standard match triggers. This aids in rapid, precise follow-up shots. The sear of the Pact .308 AR Trigger captures the hammer at the rear rather than near the pivot point to facilitate its light pull and safe operation. Safety is further ensured by a secondary, independent interceptor sear which will block the hammer should it slip off the primary sear – for example if the weapon is dropped or suffers an impact. The rifle will still fire should this happen, albeit with a heavier pull-weight. Furthermore the Pact AR .308 trigger uses the factory safety to capture the hammer, as on the US M1 Garand, to roll it back below the primary sear for an enhanced safety margin.
The whole unit is self-contained and housed in an aluminum housing. This maintains the tolerances and engagement between parts is not dependent on factory pin hole centers. The factory pins simply hold the unit in place and do not affect trigger function.
